1) "I'm too great a sinner."1 Timothy 1:15 Paul, who had murdered many Christians before his conversion, wrote, "How true it is, and how I long that everyone should know it, that Christ Jesus came into the world to save sinners - and I was the greatest of them all." Few humans are too evil for God to save, and if you are afraid you have sinned too much, then your heart is definitely soft enough for Jesus to reach! 2) "I'll never make it."John 10:28,29 Jesus said, "I give them eternal life and they shall never perish. No one shall snatch them away from me, for my Father has given them to me, and He is more powerful than anyone else, so no one can kidnap them from me." Once you accept Jesus as your Savior and Lord, you are Christ's. The Holy Spirit seals you for eternity. You will make it! 3) "I'll be persecuted."Romans 8:18 Paul, the apostle, wrote, "Yet what we suffer now is nothing compared to the glory He will give us later." When we accept Christ, we accept some suffering in our life. This suffering identifies us with Christ and helps us understand how He suffered and how incredible His suffering must have been when multiplied by all the people born from before His death until the end of the age. God will keep you and insure that you don't suffer more than you are able to handle. 4) "It will hurt my business."Mark 8:36 "Then those who had seen [the demon possessed man delivered by Jesus] told how the demon possessed man had been healed." When people see how your life has changed FOR THE BETTER - maybe you are nicer, more fair, not swearing, not mean or hurtful, whatever - this will most likely cause people to frequent your business more, not less. And think of the word-of-mouth advertising about the new and improved you! 5) "The Christian life is too much trouble."Matthew 11:28,29,30 Jesus says, "Come to me and I will give you rest - all of you who work so hard beneath a heavy yoke. Wear my yoke - for it fits perfectly - and let me teach you; for I am gentle and humble, and you shall find rest for your souls; for I give you only light burdens." Whatever heavy load you are carrying now (pain, sickness, drugs, alcohol, abuse, whatever) Jesus will take that yoke from you, as you yield to Him, and give you His yoke or burden. This is never the bondage satan puts on you. NO, never. For God is a loving God and wants all to live in Him and be free. Proverbs 13:15 "A man with good sense is appreciated. A treacherous man must walk a rocky road." Good sense means you accept Jesus and choose the Christian life. Only an unrepentant sinner is treacherous...the life of sin brings many hardships and trials. It is better to choose the road Jesus sets your feet on. It is not as difficult as the life of sin. 6) "My heart is too hard." or "I am too calloused."Ezekiel 36:26,27 "I will give you a new heart - I will give you new and right desires - and put a new spirit within you. I will take out your stony hearts of sin and give you new hearts of love. And I will put my Spirit within you so that you will obey My laws and do whatever I command." Few hearts are too hard for God to reach. He will change your hard, tough, worldly attitudes into His godly attitudes. He will change your rough edges to smooth, compassionate edges. His Spirit, the Holy Spirit, will dwell within you. All you have to do is accept Him and you will want to do what is right. It is something He works within you. Don't worry about it, let Him do the work. (To learn more about the Holy Spirit click "Holy Spirit" at the end of this page.) 7) "I have committed the unpardonable sin."The unpardonable sin is blasphemy against the Holy Spirit. This means to say that the work of Holy Spirit is of satan and turning totally against God. (Matthew 12:31). John 6:37 Jesus said, "But some will come to me - those the Father has given me - and I will never, never reject them." If you have come this far, you have read this whole page, you are still able to be saved. You have not this far rejected the message Jesus is trying to get across to you through this web page. If you had committed that most wicked of sins, you would not have any interest in this message and would most likely violently reject the message and the messenger. Isaiah 1:18 "Come, let's talk this over," says the Lord; "no matter how deep the stain of your sins, I can take it out and make you as clean as freshly fallen snow. Even if you are stained as red as crimson, I can make you white as wool!" Look, if you are a great sinner, no sin is too bad to be forgiven. (See #1.) If you are worried about the possibility that you have committed the unpardonable sin...you didn't! That concern you have proves you haven't done it! 8) "It's too late for me."If you are breathing and able to read this, it is not too late! Luke 23:39-43 As Jesus hung on the cross, "One of the criminals hanging beside Him scoffed, 'So you're the Messiah, are you? Prove it by saving yourself - and us, too, while you're at it!' But the other criminal protested, 'Don't you even fear God when you are dying? We deserve to die for our evil deeds, but this man hasn't done one thing wrong.' Then he said, 'Jesus, remember me when You come into Your Kingdom.' And Jesus replied, 'Today you will be with me in Paradise. This is a solemn promise.'" The first criminal was about to die, and after blaspheming the Holy Spirit, meet satan in hell. The second criminal was about to die, and upon recognizing Jesus for who He was, he would enter heaven with Jesus that day. How close could it come to being too late? It is never too late until you have died. If you are alive and reading this, now is the time. Oh, there is one other possibility, Jesus is due very soon to take His Bride, the church of true believers, to heaven with Him before the great and terrible day of judgment on all the earth. If that happens before you accept Jesus as Lord and Savior, you will be left behind to suffer the greatest time of hardship and wickedness the world has ever seen. Don't put it off just because you think you have a lot of years left to live. No one knows how long they have. Please, accept Him now. (Click here to go to the prayer of Salvation.) 9) "I'm a good person." or "I've never done anything wrong."Galatians 3:10 "Yes, those who depend on the Jewish laws to save them are under God's curse, for the Scriptures point out very clearly, 'Cursed is everyone who at any time breaks a single one of these laws that are written in God's Book of the Law.'" In other words, even though we aren't Jewish, God gave all those laws for humankind...all humankind. Most of the civil and criminal and moral laws of today are based on God's Book of the Law. Now, we are unable to keep every one in the natural; because our nature is to sin. The only way our nature can be changed is through the Blood of Christ...and that is by accepting Him as Lord and Savior. Being a good person is not enough to get you or anyone else into heaven. Only Jesus is the way. John 4:6 "Jesus said to him, 'I am the way, the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through Me.'" (NKJV) 10) "There are many hypocrites in the church."Romans 14:4,12 Paul wrote to those who would criticize Christians for not being perfect, "They are God's servants, not yours. They are responsible to Him, not to you. Let Him tell them whether they are right or wrong. And God is able to make them do as they should. Yes, each of us will give an account of himself to God." No one is perfect except Jesus. We get saved and we begin a journey toward being like Him. Yes, we are delivered from bondage, diseases, so on, when we get saved. Yet we start out in WISDOM as babies. We have to learn a different way to talk, act, think. Jesus will lead us into the knowledge of these things by the power of the Holy Spirit working in our lives. Some people have just grown up in the Lord more than others. That is why some people aren't as "perfect" as they could be. Others in the church AREN'T EVEN SAVED! Sometimes people go to church their whole lives and never realize that they never accepted Jesus into their own hearts! They assume because they have always been in church that they are automatically saved. That is not true. So, these people can hurt others because they don't have the Spirit of Christ in them. There are many degrees of progression and wisdom. Don't worry about it. Just pray for the ones who don't seem to have gotten the idea. That way, you won't be hurt and they might get delivered! 11) "I'll think about it."Isaiah 55:6 "Seek the Lord while you can find Him. Call upon Him now while He is near." Hey, God is talking to you NOW. He has arranged for you to locate this web page (no easy matter) and for you to read it. Isn't that enough? You can feel Him tugging on your heart and your spirit is crying out for fellowship with Him. Give in to Him. Haven't you given in to the bad stuff in life long enough? If you can give in to things that are going to hurt you, why not try giving in to God? He will never hurt you. Just do it. Be like you know who...Just do it! You will be glad you did! Proverbs 29:1 "The man who is often reproved but refuses to accept criticism will suddenly be broken and never have another chance." Look, God will not wait for you forever. If you think you can just keep on sinning until you reach a goal you have and then give in to God, I'm afraid you have another thing coming. God will let you go so long and then put pressure on you to change and accept Him. The more you refuse, the worse it will get. Give in to Him now while He is gently calling you. Don't wait, again I say: Just do it! 12) "I'm too young."Ecclesiastes 12:1 "Don't let the excitement of being young cause you to forget about your Creator. Honor Him in your youth before evil years come - when you'll no longer enjoy living." Life brings the hardships of adulthood. Things are not always as easy as they are in youth. Even though these days are hard for everyone...It is harder when you are an adult and have the added responsibility of adult things (job, kids, husband or wife, bills, etc.) Don't wait. Accept Jesus now, then when you are all grown up you will be so much more ready for the great things God has for you to do in His Kingdom. It is awesome!
Please, If you haven't prayed to receive Jesus Christ as YOUR Lord and Savior, do so now...don't let this moment pass you by - there may never be another like it! Click here to go back to the Prayer of Salvation. In Christ's Love, Rev. Pamela M. Hunter
