Hunter's Lady Bug Updates:
If you are looking at this page with a small child, you may want to not continue. The pictures below show the breeding process. You may feel this information is not appropriate for your child. Thank you, and sorry for any offense. We are breeders of horses, dogs, chickens and other farm animals. The breeding process is an everyday occurance to us. However, some people have no idea what a breeding entails. This part of the page is for them. PMH
The matings took place on April 19th and 20th, 2005. Although both dogs were inexperienced, they figured it all out eventually. There is always a lot of looking, sniffing, licking and play fighting.
Finally, they got it together. The second day's breeding went very fast! After the initial shock of being stuck wore off, the dogs just stood there looking bewildered.
Here is a pregnant Lady. Miserable! She had her first pup about and hour later.
This is right before Lady welped her first pup. You can see how the vagina is swollen and puffy. The signs we saw before birth were: 24 hours before she bright blue veins appeared in her breasts. Milk was easily extracted. She was looking all over for a place to have her babies. Under the bed, under the table, and finally, she had them on OUR bed! Of course! Jack Russell Links
