Here is her 2005 mate, Turbo Jack UKC registered. He is a lovely gentleman!
On May 21, 2005 Lady had her puppies, four in all, two males and two females. Here are the pictures more will come soon:
Moms always lick their babies to clean them and help them to breathe. As soon as the puppy comes out we be sure teh bag is broken and free teh pup's head. We then take a clean wash cloth and vigorously rub the pup to stimulate breathing. Yips from the pup tell us it is breathing. While we are doing this, Lady is eating, yes eating, the afterbirth. This is an important step because the after birth (or placenta) is high in nutrients which Lady needs to make her milk richer.
Our little ones have great markings. On May 25th they had their dew claws removed and tails docked. This is traditional for JRTs.
This is Lady's first pup, liver and white with black shading on her points. Very nice pup with excellent markings. This pup is a female. She was born breach, as was the second pup. This means that the hind end came out first.
This is pup #2, he was born breach, too. He is a lovely tri-color male! Cute!!! The head is supposed to come out first. When the rear appears first it is painful for the mother dog. We had to assist in the birth of the first two pups because of their breach position. This means that when Lady had a contraction we gently tugged on the pup while holding it with a clean cloth for grip. NEVER pull the puppy out, we were merely assisting the natural process.
Here are Lady and Jackson's babies. Four beautiful pups. One tri-color black and tan, two brown with black points, and one liver with black points. Their facial markings are very desirable! How blessed we are! Jackson's mom gets the pick of the litter for the stud fee. What do you think of our pups? Let us know!
Lady looks very maternal and wise!
