• 3/23/05 - Lady bred to UKC Turbo Jack! Pups due week of May 19, 2005. The breeding.

Lady is our sweet little Jack Russell Terrier (now Parsons Russell Terrier). She was born February 14, 2003, and is my pride and joy!

Jack Russells are NOT for everyone! They are busy little dogs with tons of personality to match their tons of energy! I like mine because she is so independant, speaks her mind, knows what she wants and will work very hard to get it! That means if you close her out of a room that she wants to be in she will bark and growl and maybe try to nip at you.

Although we have a 3 year old in our family, JRTs are not generally good with children. They may bite if annoyed, steal toys and food, tear up diapers and so forth. We always kennel Lady when we have dinner or when our 3 year old granddaugher, Evie, is having a snack.

Lady is very clever, and does several tricks and commands: sit, stay (doesn't last too long), dance pretty, down, get out, beg, give puppy love (lots of licks on your neck), and fetching games.

JRTs are notorious for running off! We NEVER let Lady out without being on a leash. We are still in the deciding phase about what kind of fence we will put up for her and where we are going to put it!

JRTs come in a few different styles:

• long legged like Lady
• short legged
• smooth coated
• and broken coated, which sport wirey hairs

I favor the long legged, smooth coated, but have seen other types that are so cute you just can't resist them!
