Fish can be one of the most soothing pets to watch. The sound of the water
bubbling in the aquarium... the bright colored fish swimming around doing
what fish do. The routine of daily care and feeding. All of these things
give us fish owners great satisfaction.
Owning fish is not
for everyone, however. If you look at the picture above you see two happy
little fish in a bowl. But, in reality, that bowl will get soiled with food
and excrement in a short time and will have to be cleaned several times a
month. This stresses the fish - as well as the human!
Aquariums are an easier choice as far as frequency of cleaning. But, they
can be costly and time consuming to set up, depending on the type of fish
and size of the aquarium.
It is important, just like with any other pet, to research the kind of fish
you want, the type of aquarium (fresh, brackish, salt water), and the
