Hunter's Pony Farm meet our
Beagles!
On November 11, 2005,
we lost our sweet beagle Buster (standing). He was in poor health at
the end of his life, had gone blind, and was losing his hearing. Buster was
laid to rest in our pet memorial area on the farm.
We adopted our beagles from the animal shelter
in Port Angeles, WA on August 27th, 2001. They are REALLY over weight, but
have been getting some exercise and a new diet. The vet gave them a great
bill of health. Both dogs are Beagles, 6 years old, neutered. We fell in
love immediately! They are great companions for our family, along with our
Jack Russell Terriers.
They are litter mates, and were owned by the
same lady for 6 years. Sadly she had to move away and couldn't take them
with her. We also lost our 3 dogs when we moved from Oklahoma, so this was
our chance to help a couple of canines and begin to heal from our own
loss.
I have never met 2 sweeter animals! They are
gentle and affectionate. The only thing about them, which is a Beagle thing,
is if they pick up a scent, they are OFF! They have to be on a leash or in
their kennel or on a chain. Which is ok, they get to spend a lot of time
with us. We go clamming and also take long walks on our property or up the
road.

Buster is on the left, Simon on the right.

Buster is 63 pounds, Simon is 51! They should be 1/2 that.
Simon has reached
his goal - but only because BUSTER keeps eating his food! So now Buster is
tied up while they eat. That seems to have solved the problem.

Everette sits in the shade watching the dogs. Our photographer is
Margaret!
If you have Beagles, please sign our guest book and
