Breeds of Horses

- Welsh Pony and Cob

Originating in the hill country of
Wales, the Welsh Mountain Pony
survived severe winters and
scarce vegetation. In spite of
these hardships, the Welsh
Mountain Pony thrived.

Very intelligent, the Welsh Pony
and Cob were used by farmers
and royalty alike.

There are over 34,000 Welsh Ponies
and Cobs registered throughout the
United States and Canada.

The Welsh Pony and Cob registry is divided into four sections:

Welsh Ponies:

    Section A - up to 12.2h

    Section B - up to 14.2h

Welsh Cobs:

    Section C - not exceeding 13.2h

Section D - over 13.2 h with no upper limit.
